Quick Start


How do I?

Qnext unifies communication and sharing into one solution. Because of the large amount of features, we designed the user interface to show the basic capacities in a familiar way to many users. The additional capabilities are available through context menus and the Qnext Desktop.
The list below shows some of the basic methods.

Access Qnext Desktop – Click on the icon below your display picture

Add Qnext contact – File > Add Qnext contact or click on the icon below your display picture.

Add External IM account – File > Add IM account or click on the icon below your picture.

Add Email account – File > Add Email Account or click on the icon below your picture to import your MSN, AOL, Yahoo, and Gmail accounts contacts.

Emailing to Email contact – Double click on the email contact, type the message in the IM window and it will be sent as an email through Qnext.

Change the Contact Panel display – Click on the Icon next to the Search field.

Add Display picture – Drag and Drop a picture into the empty picture frame at the top right of the contact panel.

Start Instant Messaging (IM) conversation – Double click on the contact name or right click on the contact name and select Contact Center > Messages.

Transfer Files – Drag and Drop any files or folder onto a Contact name or right click on the contact name and select Contact Center > Files

Start Video or Audio Conferencing – Right click on the contact name and select Conference or access from the Qnext Desktop.

Play Games – Right click on the contact name that you wish to play with and select Play a game. The contact will receive an invitation to play. Drag and drop contacts to the Game to invite others. Or you can go to Qnext Desktop and select Games.

View Zones that shared with you by a specific contact – Click on the + next to the contact name and double click on the Zone you would like to access.

View Zones that shared with you by everyone – Go to Qnext Desktop and select Browse Friend’s Content

Create Shared Zone – Select File > Share Content and then select the type of content to be shared. Follow the instructions in the zone creation dialog. You can also go to Qnext Desktop and select Create and Edit Shared Content.

Request Help from a Friend – Double click on the Contact name and from the Contact Center select MyPC (Remote Assist). The contact will receive a message and by accepting, they will see your desktop in a new tab in the Qnext Desktop. You will able to follow their actions.

Enable Remote Access to my Computer – Go to Qnext Desktop and select Remote Access My PC, and follow the instructions.

How do I change settings – Most of the features have settings options within the dialogs. To view all options and selecting the desired one go to Qnext Desktop > Settings.

Where are the files that where transferred to me – Double click on a Contact name, select the tab Files at the bottom of the window and click on the field on the right of Download files to. By default, all the transferred files go to the same destination in your computer. You can change the destination at any time.

Search for a Contact – Click in the Search field and enter the name you are looking for.

Search for a Qnext Contact – Click on the icon below your display picture. Select Add Qnext Contact and click on the link search for the contact.
